December 7, 2007
Dear Coaches and Athletic Directors:
The brackets for the 9th Annual SunTrust Bank JV Basketball Holiday Classic are now set. Due to the
tournament having 44 teams participating, we are having a “Red” Division, “Green” Division, and a “White”
Division. Schools were put in their particular division based on being able to play their opening game against a
school not on their schedule, transportation issues, and also by trying to have competitive matchups
throughout the tournament. With several schools from the same county participating, the way the brackets
have been drawn is about the best combination considering all of the other factors involved. We would like to
invite your JV CHEERLEADERS to come as well because we will be giving out a SPIRIT AWARD in each
division at the conclusion of the tournament.
All games will be played at the Randolph-Asheboro YMCA (full college-sized court), Southwestern Randolph
Middle School, and Southwestern Randolph High School. Teams will stay at the same site all three days in
order to cut down on the confusion for teams and their fans in finding their gym location. I was able to have
your boys’ and girls’ teams play back to back the first day so that your fans could see both of their teams play
without having to wait in between games. With this letter, please find the bracket and/or pool play information
for your school, map for gym sites, and Tournament Fact Sheet. This information will also be available on our
website beginning December 14, 2007. Go to www.randolphasheboroymca.com and click on the SunTrust JV
Tournament link. PLEASE EMAIL A COPY OF YOUR ROSTER TO: david.cross@bankofthecarolinas.com BY
NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 15, 2007. I will need the school nickname, players’ names, jersey #, and what
grade they are.
Thank you for participating in our tournament, and we look forward to seeing you during the Christmas
holidays. Please give me a call at (336)625-9990 X-209 if you have any questions regarding times and
locations of your team’s schedule.
Sincerely,
David K Cross
Tournament Director
P.S. As a reminder, there is no entry fee to enter our tournament. However, we fully expect you to honor your
commitment to participate in all three days of our event. Failure to do so will result in your school being billed
$150 per team per day for each day your team does not show up to play. With 44 teams participating, if just
one team does not show up, it creates TOTAL CHAOS with the brackets and causes teams to be shorted their
three game guarantee. Please be considerate of the other schools in our tournament.
