Youth Fitness Program

Ages 6-10
Cardio Games: Youth have a great time playing games and getting their
hearts pumping!
Swimming:  A time for youth to have fun with friends in the pool; while
getting some great exercise!
Fitness Obstacle Course:  One side of the gym is transformed into a fun
calorie-burning workout through a circuit of high-energy exercises!
Dance! Dance! Revolution:  Youth learn new dance moves while burning
calories with this always popular Fitness Game!
Ages 11-15
Cardio/Weight Lifting:  Youth meet in the weight room with a Y staff
member who will teach them the proper way to use the fitness equipment.  
What a fun way to reach their fitness goals!
Youth Line Dancing:  Every youth LOVES to dance!  This is a great class
for youth to learn some new moves while burning calories!
Cycle/Weight & ABs Class:  During this class youth enjoy some time on
the stationary bikes and get to exercise with the weights to tone their ABs!

Kids Tri at the Y Youth Triathlon
(Swim, Bike, Run)

A tri-athlon combines swimming, biking, and running in an exciting paced
format that promotes fun, fitness, and self-confidence.  The children's Tri
and the Y race distances are age appropriate.  All participants will receive
t-shirts, swim caps and awards from completing the tri-athlon.  The swim
portion of the tri-athlon will take place in the YMCA pool.  If needed,
participants will be provided a flotation device and assistance in the lane.  
After completing the swim, the tri-athlete runs to his or her bike, put on their
helmets and shoes, and ride the bike course.  At the end of the bike
course, the tri-athlete will run or walk the rest of the race.  Then the
tri-athlete will run or walk the rest of the race.  When the tri-athlete reaches
the finish line, he or she will receive their award!

Tri-athlon date is set for June 14,  2008. Pre-registration is required. If you
